£13,850

Antique Irish Silver Dublin Georgian Chased Coffee Pot 1753 with original crest and weighing 920 grams or 29oz 12dwts including wooden handle. The coffee pot is 27cm high and  has an acorn finial and is fully hallmarked near rim and part hallmarked to lid.

This coffee pot is a perfect example of Irish chasing in the rococo period. The asymmetrical design  first appeared in rococo decoration of the early 1740’s but slowly gave way to a more free flowing decoration usually including scrolls, shells, vines and grapes by the end of the decade.

The coffee pot has a magnificent chased cast spout terminating in a beautiful dolphin. Dolphin decoration can be found in some of the finest Irish furniture of the time period, but it is exceptionally hard to find in Irish silver. Truly gorgeous in the hand, with sumptuous patination and colour. This piece would make a fantastic addition to any collection.

This antique Irish Silver Dublin Georgian Chased Coffee Pot 1753 is priced at £13,850 Sterling.
